FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will host BLAST! for baby sitters, a lesson and safety training class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at 113 Church St. in Farmington.
The program will provide training in baby sitter basics like feeding, burping and diapering, as well as first aid for emergency response, including CPR. The BLAST! program prepares children to interview for a baby-sitting job, select safe and suitable games and activities for kids, prevent accidents and begin sitting successfully.
All participants will become CPR and automated external defibrillator-certified by the American Heart Association. Attendees will leave with a certificate of completion, a full-color book to use as a quick reference guide while baby-sitting, and tools to help them organize their efforts.
The training is open to Franklin County residents age 13 and older, and the cost is $55. Limited scholarships are available. Those interested in the course should contact Stacie at 207-778-6960, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up or ask questions. Anyone interested in attending should call or email to register no later than Wednesday, Aug. 12. Payment, via cash or check, will be collected at the start of class on Aug. 14.
