Franklin County sheriff candidate plans meet-and-greet nights


CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Scott Nichols Sr., who is seeking election as Franklin County sheriff, will hold meet-and-greet nights in a number of towns.

“The ideas, concerns and insight from citizens in the county are extremely important” to Nichols, Lorna Nichols, his campaign manager, said Friday in a report.

His campaign staff have been busy setting up the events throughout the county.

The first will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at the Industry Fire Department.

Lorna Nichols said host Lee Ireland will invite the public to meet the candidate and his family and to ask questions and listen to his ideas. Light refreshments will be provided.

“Whether you know Nichols or not, you are encouraged to stop by,” she said.

Nichols will be guest speaker at Farmington Rotary Club at 7 a.m. Feb. 23 at North Dining Hall at University of Maine.

Meet-and-greet nights scheduled are:

Feb. 27, Rangeley, Saddleback’s Swig ‘n Smelt Pub, 5:30-7 p.m.

March 13, Strong, White Elephant (banquet room). Hosted by Christine Richards.

March 26, Jay, VFW hall, 5:30to 7 p.m. Hosted by Larry White.

April 9, Stratton, elementary school, 5:30-7 p.m. Hosted by Scott Stevens, Al and Donna Pelletier.

April 23, Kingfield, American Legion Hall, School Streeet, 5:30-7 p.m. Hosted by Mark Lopez.

May 7, Farmington, UMF North Dining Hall, 5:30-7 p.m. Hosted by Lewis Gaboury.

June 11, New Sharon, Top of the Hill Grill & BBQ, 5:30-7 p.m. Hosted by the Nichols family.
