FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved a reopened wage contract giving dispatchers in Teamsters Local Union No. 340 a 35-cent per hour increase across the board, county Clerk Julie Magoon said.
The increase is retroactive to July 1.
In return, union dispatchers agreed to reduce their accrued paid personal leave time from a maximum of 960 hours to a maximum of 480 hours during their employment with the county, Magoon said Tuesday.
The commissioners and the union had been in mediation prior to reaching an agreement, she said.
Commissioners approved a two-year contract in January with dispatchers that gave them a 2 percent wage increase that was retroactive to June 30, 2016.
The contract expires June 30, 2018.
