Deadline looms for filing nomination papers

JAY – The deadline to return nomination papers for election to town offices in Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls nears.

In Jay, no one has returned papers for two, three-year terms on the Board of Selectmen. Those seats are currently held by Tom Goding and Tim DeMillo. Both have taken out papers, which are due back by 4 p.m. Monday, May 2, at the town office.

No one has taken out papers for one trustee position each in the North Jay Water District and the Jay Village Water District. Both are three-year terms.

Livermore Selectperson John Wakefield is running for another three-year term and Selectperson Wayne Timberlake is seeking a two-year term. Two others have taken out papers but had not returned them as of Wednesday morning. The deadline for filing is 4 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the town office.

In Livermore Falls, Selectman Bill Demaray has returned papers for another three-year term.

Jeff Bryant has taken out papers for a two-year term on the board, which is currently held by Alphonso Barker.

Barker is circulating papers to run against Demaray.

Papers must be filed by 4 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the town office.
