FARMINGTON – Three teenagers were injured late Thursday afternoon when the car they were driving in rolled over on Industry Road in Farmington, police said.

The driver of the 1990 Ford sport utility vehicle was Nicholas Luker, 17, of Industry. At the time of the crash, he and three friends, all 15 and 16 years old, were heading into Farmington, police said.

Luker suffered facial injuries in the crash, one youth had a fracture, and another had a concussion. All four were wearing seat belts, police said.

A report filed by Sgt. Shane Cote said at about 4:30 p.m., Luker was about a half-mile east of the Franklin County Animal Shelter on Industry Road, also known as Route 43, when he became distracted by something in the car.

The SUV swerved into the soft shoulder and Luker overcorrected his steering, sending the car into a spin. It rolled over one time and landed in the ditch on the opposite side of the road.

The vehicle was extensively damaged, police said. The occupants were able to get out of the wreckage on their own.

NorthStar EMS and the Farmington fire and rescue personnel responded.
