JAY – The town's Comprehensive Plan Update Committee has scheduled a townwide visioning session Thursday, Sept. 16, to get feedback from residents, taxpayers and others on what they would like to see occur in the town in the future.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m at the Jay High School.

"The purpose of the session is to get a wide variety of opinions and viewpoints about what is special about Jay and needs to be preserved, and what needs to change and improve in the years ahead. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend,” committee Chairman Justin Merrill said. “The more citizens participate, the better the product will be."

The session will be facilitated by the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments. The session will consist of a series of exercises and discussions about the future of Jay.

This is the first step in updating the 1996 Comprehensive plan for the town.

"Jay needs to look at its future," Merrill said. "Come talk with your neighbors and help us shape the future of our town."

Jay residents, taxpayers and municipal officials who are interested in attending are asked to call the town office at 897-6785 so the committee can have an idea of attendance.
