Fraser named program director

AUBURN – Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp has announced the appointment of Mary Fraser as the new director of the TRiO student support services program. Fraser has been with the TRiO program for the last three-and-a-half years, most recently as coordinator of retention and transfer.

Fraser received her undergraduate degree in international studies from Bryant College in Rhode Island. She earned her master of arts in history and anthropology from University College in London, England. She then served as a resident director at Mitchell College in New London, Conn., and as student affairs director and director of advising and first-year programs for Newbery College in Brookline, Mass. In addition, Fraser serves currently as the conference chairman for Region 1 of the National Academic Advising Association. She lives in Gray.

TRiO is a federally-funded college success program designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The TRiO Success Center at CMCC provides student support services such as academic planning and advising, study skills support, financial aid and transfer assistance, and services for students with disabilities.

Albert joins Baystate Financial Services

FALMOUTH – Austin Albert of Auburn was recently selected to join Baystate Financial Services as a financial representative. Based in Boston, Baystate Financial Services is one of New England’s oldest and largest privately-owned financial services firms, with offices throughout the Northeast.

Albert has more than two years of experience in the insurance and financial services field. A graduate of Union College, he also holds a number of prestigious designations including Series 7 license and all other appropriate insurance designations.
