PHILLIPS — The Studio will present the musical duo Freddy and Francine at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Lee Ferris and Bianca Caruso, a Phillips native, met while performing in the musical “Hair,” Michael Butler’s 40th anniversary revival.
“Beginning our latest tour at The Studio @ the Phillips Library is my way of giving something back to a community that means so much to me,” Caruso said.
“Freddy and Francine draws from influences like Ray La Montagne, The Swell Season and The Rolling Stones,” she said. “Freddy and Francine built their story behind beautiful vocal harmonies, a solid writing style and a captivating live set colored with tinges of country, rock ‘n’ roll, folk, and pop and underscored by a soulful delivery reminiscent of classic R&B.”
“This intimate concert is the highlight of Freddy and Francine’s East Coast tour and we are delighted to host such a professional act as Freddy and Francine,” librarian Hedy Langdon said.
The Studio is in the annex building next to the library on Main Street and has been transformed into an intimate musical performance area reminiscent of the 1960s coffeehouse experience, she said.
Admission is $10 and seating is very limited.
