LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library completed a major renovation 19 years ago and opened the doors on Lisbon Street with new furniture in the library’s café area on the first floor.
However, two decades later, the furniture is on the verge of being worn out.
The Friends of the Lewiston Public Library, a 501 c 3 library support organization, would like to fix the situation, and to do so, they are conducting a “crowdfunding” campaign on the GoFundMe.com website to raise the $13,000 needed to re-furnish the first floor of the library.
They are calling on the Lewiston/Auburn community to assist with the project.
Tax deductible donations to the LPL Furniture Fund can be made on the Internet by going to the GoFundMe.com website and searching for Lewiston Public Library. Donations can also be made by check.
Checks made payable to the Friends of LPL should be sent to LPL Furniture Fund, Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
