George C. Fournier
LEWISTON — A memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of George C. Fournier was celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Daniels Tuesday at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. George’s three sons served as memorial bearers, Raymond as urn bearer, James as cross bearer and Daniel Fournier as flag bearer. The New Testament reading was proclaimed by George’s daughter, Joline Vachon, the prayer of the faithful was recited by George’s sister, Carmen Giancotti, the offertory gifts were brought to the altar by George’s daughter, Susan Collins and her husband Douglas. Words of remembrance were shared by George’s son, Raymond Fournier. After a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Father Daniels recited committal prayers followed by the U.S. Army Honor Detail who played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to George’s wife, Doris in honor of her husband’s service to his country during the Korean Conflict. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Gipper’s Sport’s Grill in Auburn. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
