AUGUSTA — George B. Wyman, 69, a resident of Wilton, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, at Maine Veterans’ Hospital in Togus, with his life partner, Linda, by his side. He was born Dec. 2, 1948, in Auburn, the son of Arthur D. Wyman and Elnora G. (Coffin) Wyman. George was a 1967 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. Following graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
George worked at the Wausau and Otis Mills in Jay in the finishing department. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, DAV, Rumford Elks Lodge 862, American Legion George Bunton Post 10 in Livermore Falls, Frank L. Mitchell, VFW Post 3335 and AMVETS Post 33, both in Jay. George was a past VFW district commander for the state of Maine.
He is survived by his life partner, Linda Brackett, of Wilton; his daughter, Nicole Wyman, of Skowhegan; and son, Michael Wyman, and his wife, Alicia, of Jay; two grandsons, Isiah and Ethan Wyman; brothers, Herbert Wyman, of Florida, his twin, Charles Wyman, and his wife, Lottie, of Auburn, Bruce Wyman of Shirley, and Richard Wyman of Rumford; sisters, Diana Cole and her husband, Dan, of Auburn, Gloria Hinkley and her husband, Marshall, of Hartford, Martha Pulkkinen and her husband, Dwinal, of Turner, and Deborah Conrad and her husband, John, of Oxford. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Ralph, James and Arthur Wyman Jr.
