Gertrude Jalbert


METHUEN, Mass. – Sister Gertrude Jalbert, 93, died Friday, July 20, at St. Claire Residence at the Presentation of Mary.

Sister Gertrude Jalbert, known in religious life as Sister Constance de Ste. Marie, was born in 1914 in Caribou to John and Blanche Bouchard Jalbert.

She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1934 in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, professing her religious vows in 1936.

She leaves her brothers, John and Henry Jalbert, of Lisbon and Albert of Ridgeway, S.C.; her sisters, Regina Tyrrell of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Joan Brame of Centerville, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; five sisters; and five brothers.
