Favorites: Lake Region has had a stranglehold on the top spot in Western B for most of the season. Starting the year 13-0, the Lakers lost two of its last five but are still the favorites, averaging 50.7 points for and 34.4 against. The Lakers have size and experienced guard play.

Leavitt is the defending Class B champs and they’re almost as potent as last year. They boast two 1,000-point scorers in Anderson and Newton. That’s a rare feat for a team in one season. The Hornets averaged a whopping 73.8 points per game and 46.3 against. With that kind of scoring pop, Leavitt won’t be an easy team to eliminate.

Darkhorses: York, Greely and Spruce Mountain could all make their presense felt. The Wildcats lost to Leavitt in the regional final and allowed only 31.7 points per game. Coach Rick Clark will have his team in the thick of it. Greely beat Lake Region late in the year and have been to the regional final twice in the last three years. The Phoenix has the best defense in the field, averaging just 28.7 points. They’ll give any team they face a battle.
