Girls’ grade school softball clinic offered


LEWISTON – Lewiston Department of Recreation is offering a “Seventh Inning” spring softball clinic for girls in grades 3 through 6 on Saturday, May 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Upper Franklin Softball Field (across from Androscoggin Bank Colisee).

Fred Royer, Lewiston High School softball coach, will run the clinic with the help of his team. The clinic will cover conditioning, stretching, throwing, fielding mechanics, development of the infielder & outfielder (including drills & strategies), pitching, catching and hitting. Participants are asked to bring their own softball gloves.

Cost is $5 per person and may be paid by cash, check, Visa or Mastercard at Lewiston Department of Recreation, 65 Central Ave., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registrations also may be downloaded from the Rec Dept website at
