YORK — Leavitt’s (12-4-1) defense hounded York all game, but the Wildcats’ patience paid off as they marched off with a 3-0 victory in a Class B girls’ semifinal game Saturday afternoon.
The second-ranked Wildcats (12-1-3) got on the board in the first half when Emily Mitchell scored thanks to Stephanie Gallagher assist.
In the second half, No. 3 Leavitt contained York until the Wildcats found the net again at 19:28. Kayla Swasey scored on a Mitchell assist. About 16 minutes later, Abbie Labonte scored unassisted off a corner kick.
York outshout the Hornets, 12-5, and goalie Carly Lee got the shutout when she made four saves.
