On April 17 at the Lewiston Armory Memorial, there was a number of veterans from World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam War, Gulf War and Iraq who had put their lives on the line to protect and serve our country. They were all honored with medals. Some were POWs and some were wounded in combat. All had been in the face of war’s extreme aggression, which I’m sure only one with that experience can possibly comprehend.
These people, like our soldiers before and currently, stand ready to fight, die if necessary to protect our freedom. We try to thank the ones who survive, and help the ones who need our help. We try to console and comfort the families of the ones who are killed. Nothing we ever give or do can express or show how much they mean to us, soldiers who are willing to put everything on the line, these warriors of liberty.
The only thing I can think of to show our soldiers the utmost respect is peace.
Peace the best way to show them how much they mean to us.
