Gluten-free pizza recipe will be presented

LEWISTON — Suzanne Dunham will present a gluten-free cook off and presentation on healthful herbs that help with digestion, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St.

The presentation is part of the Living Gluten-Free Support Group that meets at the center the third Thursday of each month. Cost for the program will be $8 each person.

Dunham, gluten-free presenter and coach, will lead two teams in preparing two different pizza recipes using flavorful and healthful digestive herbs and alternative flours to wheat. The whole group will then rate the best recipe. While enjoying the food, she will give a presentation on herbs for better digestion.

Those with celiac disease, gluten intolerance and other diseases affecting digestion, may find gentle, effective relief through the incorporation of herbs in their diet.

Dunham has given living gluten-free seminars and cooking classes since 2005 in various venues in Maine. She is an herbalist who began to focus on digestion in the mid-1980s when she learned she was also gluten intolerant.
