PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Two teams tied at 15-under par 57 and three more finished a stroke back at 58 in a three-man scramble golf tournament played Monday by the Treasure Coast Senior Tour at the Santa Lucia River Club.
The difference between winning or not was an eagle on a par-5 hole. Local pro Bob Darling Jr. holed a 40-yard pitch shot for an eagle at the fifth hole as he teamed with David Pilot and Gary Benoit for one-half of first place. The other half went to Chris Dachisen, Jim Sheerin and Bryan Abbott, who combined to eagle the 13th hole.
The second of four weekly TCST events drew 10 teams. Still to come: Feb. 27, pro-amateur, Eaglewood GC, Hobe Sound, and March 5, at Santa Lucia, four-man, two-man and individual. Another half-dozen or more will be played during the summer. For information and entry, go to www.treasuecoastseniortour.com.
