Golf tourney raises money for Munster family

MEXICO — The Sebastian Munster Charity Golf Tournament was held Sept. 26 at Oakdale Country Club to benefit the family of Sebastian Munster, who was killed at the Rumford paper mill.

The event raised over $500 for the trust fund, which also now holds over $6,000 raised by other fundraisers from local mill crews.

Winners of the event were Rene Cayer, Richard McKenna, Eric Cote and Gary Clement, with a score of 9 under par 63. Longest drive winner was Don Johnson, who also won closest to pin. Closest to the line winner was Jamie Virgin.

Tourney organizer Jim Allen and volunteers organize monthly outings for the maintenance crew from NewPage paper mill, where each event raises money for someone in need.
