FARMINGTON — Garrett Goodridge of Farmington, a senior at Mt. Blue High School, has been selected to receive the 2010 Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Goodridge is deserving of this award due to his dedication to his studies and his involvement in  extra-curricular offerings at the high school. Goodridge has challenged himself with many upper-level courses and has followed his creative passion by enrolling in a variety of offerings in the Art Department.

He is also president of the National Honor Society and has led that group in many community service events over the past year. In addition, he is a member of the Franklin County Fiddlers and is the student director of the MBHS faculty play this year. Given his interest in architecture, Goodridge has served as a student member of the MBHS/FTC Building Committee and has represented the student body well in that role.

Goodridge, Principal Monique Poulin and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at 1 p.m Saturday, April 3, at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor.
