FARMINGTON — Rhonda Wiles-Rosell and Kent Wiles, co-owners of Wiles Remembrance Centers and Wiles Memorial Company, announce that Emily Gordon, a licensed funeral practitioner, is the newest member to the team at Franklin County’s oldest family-owned funeral home and monument company.
Gordon, a native of Kingfield, is a graduate of Mt. Abram High School. She continued her education at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass., where she studied funeral service. She graduated cum laude in 2010.
She gained experience while serving her apprenticeship and becoming licensed in Connecticut.
In March of 2014, she was selected to participate in the National Funeral Directors Association annual Meet the Mentors conference where 50 funeral directors under the age of 40, nationwide, were selected to be mentored by leading professionals in the funeral service industry. She has additional specialized training on pre-natal and infant loss.
Gordon is a member of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association. She assists with facilitating the Bereaved Parents Support Group at Franklin Memorial Hospital and is involved in end-of-life care with the local Hospice Coalition.
She resides in Jay and enjoys spending time at her family’s camp on Wyman Lake, relaxing with friends, traveling, reading and yoga.
