Grammy winner to perform in Freeport


FREEPORT — Grammy award-winning composer and pianist Paul Sullivan will perform Saturday, March 20, at the Spring Serenade benefit for the Freeport Historical Society.

Known for his work as a soloist, as part of a jazz trio and with the Paul Winter Consort, Sullivan often offers engaging and sometimes quirky observations onstage about music and life.

His 13 CDs have sold more than 300,000 copies and have won three Indie Awards. He received a Grammy Award for his work on the Paul Winter Consort CD “Silver Solstice.”

The Spring Serenade, which includes a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, will be at the Freeport Community Services building, 53 Depot St. For tickets, $50, call 865-3170. For more information, visit
