GARDINER – Brittany Gurney pitched a three-hit shutout, with 10 strikeouts and two walks, to lead Leavitt to a 3-0 victory over Gardiner.
Gurney also had the lone extra-base hit of the game with an RBI double in the seventh. Jess Paladino hit a 2-run single with two outs in the first for the Hornets (4-4), while Steph Healy had three hits.
Courtney Allen took the loss for Gardiner (4-4).
Liv. Falls 14, Hall-Dale 2
LIVERMORE FALLS – Sam Whiting had a pair of hits and an RBI to key a eight-run explosion in the third inning as Livermore Falls ran away to a 14-3 win over Hall-Dale.
Taryn Flagg had three hits and a pair of RBIs, and Jenika Kelley added an RBI double for the Andies (4-4). Pitcher Whitney McDaniel had a pair of hits at the plate.
Lindsay Nyitray had two hits for the Bulldogs (3-5). Julia Nyitray pitched four innings in a losing effort.
Cony 2, Lewiston 0
AUGUSTA – Monica White tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out nine, and Cony scored the game’s only two runs in the third inning to knock off Lewiston 2-0.
Meaghan Stinson reached on a two-base error, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a fielder’s choice for the Rams (5-3). Nat Fecteau notched the second run.
Brittany Dubuc delivered two hits for Lewiston (3-5), which also got a three-hitter from pitcher Danielle Willey, who struck out five.
Buckfield 5, Rangeley 0
BUCKFIELD – Tiffany Dunn, Kasey Farrington and Alyssa Henderson each had a hit in a three-run first inning to help Buckfield remain unbeaten with a 5-0 blanking of Rangeley.
Desiree Brackett tossed a two-hit shutout for the Bucks (6-0). Kate Jamison allowed two hits after the first inning for Rangeley (1-2).
Mt. Abram 13, Mtn. Valley 3
RUMFORD – Heather Hayes hit two doubles and had three RBIs to lead Mt. Abram to a 13-3 triumph over Mountain Valley.
Tanya Martin led Mountain Valley (2-5) with an RBI double, while Kim Clark contributed a pair of hits.
Oxf. Hills 5, Brunswick 1
SOUTH PARIS – Jen Jurczak bolstered the Vikings with six innings of four-hit ball and Oxford Hills smacked nine hits to defeat Brunswick 5-1 in a matchup between undefeated softball teams.
The Vikings (8-0) scored twice when Emmy Lou Blake dropped a squeeze bunt with Dianne Ramsey and Mindy Rugg on base that led to a throwing error and put the game out of reach. Jurczak improved to 5-0 with the pitching win.
McKell Barnes and Whitney Thurlow hit doubles for the Dragons.
St. Dom’s 9, Gray-NG 8
AUBURN – Laura Robitzek had a two-run homer, an RBI double, and scored three runs to lead St. Dom’s to a 9-8 triumph over Gray-New Gloucester.
Danielle Guerin added an RBI triple, scored four runs and added three hits for the Saints (3-2). Danielle Jamison picked up the win.
The Patriots (4-4) were paced by Ali Omstead, who went 4-4 with three RBIs, and Olivia Ryan, who had three hits.
Monmouth 6, Winthrop 1
MONMOUTH – Kayla Chick tossed a five-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts to lead Monmouth to a 6-1 victory over Winthrop.
Jen Lola belted a solo home run, while Trista Morin and Sami Fairchild had two RBIs apiece for the Mustangs (5-1). Johnna Palleschi drove in the lone run for Winthrop (2-4).
Geo. Valley 28, Wiscasset 4
THOMASTON – Liz Hall belted a three-run home run in the third and also hit a two-run triple for five RBIs as Georges Valley crushed Wiscasset 28-4.
Ashley Geel had four hits and five RBIs for the Buccaneers (5-2).
Foxy Buck had two hits for Wiscasset (2-7).
Jay 26, Carrabec 1
JAY – Freshman catcher Liz LeBlanc collected four hits, including a triple, for seven RBIs as Jay pummeled Carrabec 26-1.
Felicia Floyd fired a one-hitter with four strikeouts and three walks for the Tigers (3-6). Desiree Castonguay and Betsy Gemelli each had a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Poland 7, Falmouth 2
POLAND – Cortney Clark smacked a two-run triple in the first and finished with two hits and two runs scored to lead Poland to a 7-2 victory over Falmouth.
Poland pitcher Kelli O’Connor went the distance, scattering eight hits while fanning six with no walks. The Knights (4-3) turned a 1-6-3 double play in the fourth to end a Falmouth rally.
Falmouth’s Riley Heddock had two hits, including an RBI single. Eileen Brades and Kelly Morris also had two hits for Falmouth (2-5).
Dirigo 27, Boothbay 2
BOOTHBAY – Michelle Holmquist had four hits including a homer, a triple, and six RBIs as Dirigo routed Boothbay for a 27-2 win.
Dirigo received at least one hit from 10 of the 15 players who saw action. Abby Fenstermacher scattered two hits over three innings to get the win for the Cougars (6-1), while Katie Hutchinson and Lanette Bryant each threw an inning.
Edward Little 9, Morse 2
AUBURN – Kim Lawrence hurled a one-hitter to backstop Edward Little to a 9-2 victory over Morse.
Lawrence struck out seven batters and added a pair of hits. Kate Dargie had two hits and three RBIs, while Kendra Butcher chipped in with two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Eddies (2-6).
Winslow 12, Oak Hill 0
WINSLOW – Katie Knowlan tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Winslow to a 12-0 win over Oak Hill.
Katie Caron went 2-for-2 with a double, and Kristen Cormier went 2-for-3 for Winslow (8-0).
