Guy Myrand


LEWISTON – Guy “Danny” Myrand, 85, of 70 Fair St., Lewiston, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 23, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Auburn on Feb. 20, 1921, the son Guy “Pete” Myrand and Melaine Campagna. He graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1939. On Sept. 16, 1974, he married the former Therese Aube and shared 15 children.

He worked for Maine Central Railroad starting as a brakeman and retiring as a conductor after 40 years of service. Danny was a Veteran of World War II, a pilot in the 13th Army Air Corps, 42nd Bomb Group flying 40 missions in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Major in 1971.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston. He was an active member of the Vineyard Church.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years; eight daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Patrice) Gagne, Mrs. Raymond (Joan) Garant, Mrs. Leo (Priscilla) Lebrun, Mrs. Robert (Claire) Gagne, of Lewiston, Mrs. Louis (Mary “BeBe”) Fortin, Mrs. Michael (Joanne) Albert, of Greene, Mrs. Scott (Clare) Brewer, of Leeds, Mrs. Tom (Julia) Atchley, of Knoxville, Tenn.; six sons, David and Celina, of Waipahu, Hawaii, Daniel and Susan of Greene, William and Laura of Leeds, Paul of Lewiston, David and Janet of Farmington, and Dennis of Gray; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many close nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Lucille Myrand; and granddaughter, Renee Myrand.
