OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange recently announced a new school-business partnership between Harrison and Waterford Elementary Schools and Oxford Walmart. Through the Education Exchange, each school in the district is linked in ongoing partnerships with one or more area businesses.
Walmart kicked off the partnership by providing the teachers at both schools with $50 gift certificates to go toward the purchase of school supplies. Coordinated by the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange, possible partnership activities during the school year will include monthly shared artwork, chorus performances at Walmart during the holidays, a food drive to benefit area families, geography lessons through Where’s Wally, and walking together at the Aspire Higher Parade in October.
This partnership makes the 9th school-business partnership the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange coordinates in the district. Partnerships help reach the mission of the Education Exchange: improving education of students by increasing business involvement in education and enriching their learning experiences.
