BUCKSPORT, Maine (AP) — Police in the Maine town of Bucksport are keeping an eye out for a self-proclaimed white supremacist group that’s been putting up fliers with images of a swastika and a Nazi flag.
According to the Bangor Daily News, a group calling itself the Bucksport Bay White Youth Pride Party has been posting handbills in downtown Bucksport in recent weeks seeking to recruit people.
Police Chief Sean Geagan said his department is monitoring the situation but that the effort doesn’t appear to be widespread.
A person identifying himself as “Proprietor Mutt” told the newspaper that the organization is a hate group, but said it is nonviolent.
