Health screenings set

LEWISTON – Residents living in and around the Lewiston area can be screened for their risk of having a stroke when Life Line Screening is at the First United Pentecostal Church, 715 College Road, on Tuesday, May 9. Appointments will begin at 10 a.m.

Screenings are fast and painless. They involve the use of ultrasound technology and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, which can lead to a stroke; aortic aneurysms, which can lead to a ruptured aorta; and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which is a predictor of heart disease. Also offered is a bone-density screening to assess risk for osteoporosis.

Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete. A vascular screening package is $109. The package with osteoporosis screening is $129. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 800-697-9721. Preregistration is required.
