HealthSteps lists core classes for June


LEWISTON — HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced June core classes.

Aquatic Fitness: Swimming skills are not needed, but a comfort level in both deep and shallow water is important. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m.

Core and Stretch: An abdominal and lower back workout to help increase flexibility and strength. Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 to 8:30 a.m.

Lap Swim: Swimmers can swim at their own pace in the 25-meter, eight-lane pool, supervised by a certified lifeguard. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6:05 to 7:30 a.m.

Mix It Up: Sample a variety of classes including walk-jog and circuit challenge. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6 to 7 a.m.

TNT (Tone-N-Tighten): The weighted workout focuses on strengthening the major muscle groups of the upper and lower body using resistance tubes, bands and weights. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7 to 8 a.m.


Yogalates on the Ball: A fusion of yoga and pilates on an exercise ball, participants will increase flexibility, improve coordination and develop strength. Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:15 to 8 a.m.

Core classes are held at St. Mary’s, 99 Campus Ave., in the Lepage Large Conference Room. Classes will run from June 1 through July 6, with the exception of lap swim and aquatic fitness. Those classes will be held in the Bates College Merrill Gymnasium and will run June 2 through 18.
