Hebron names middle school director


HEBRON – Hebron Academy has named Paul S. Brouwer the director of its middle school.

Brouwer will be responsible for all activities and programs involving the middle school students and faculty, as well as coordination with Hebron’s Upper School.

Brouwer joined the Hebron Middle School faculty in 1998 after teaching at Tripp Middle School in Turner. He is currently the academy’s outdoor education program director and teaches mathematics, science and music.

He is also a Registered Maine Guide, a certified wilderness emergency medical technician, and first responder. In the summer, he teaches at the Maine Conservation School in Bryant Pond and is a skills tester at the Junior Maine Guide testing camp on Swan Island.

Prior to teaching, Brouwer was a member of a professional rock band and traveled the world performing and recording music. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University College at Potsdam and from the Crane School of Music.
