SABATTUS — Henry Bertrand Perrier, 76, of Sabattus passed away Sunday, April 23, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 28, 1941, a son of the late Bertrand and Marie Rose (Plourde) Perrier. He grew up in Poland and was educated in Poland schools. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1960.

In June 1963, he went to work at Gould & Scammon, which later became Enefco, and retired as plant manager in February 2004. He married Joan Boutin on Oct. 9, 1965. They made their home in Lewiston with their three children. After 21 years of living in Lewiston, they moved to Sabattus.

Henry was in the Army Reserve (1125th). He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 106 in Lewiston.

Following their retirement, they wintered in Riverview, Fla., for 12 years, where they made many friends. While Henry was younger, he took art lessons and became a wonderful artist sharing many of his paintings with family members. In his spare time he enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, camping, fishing, hunting and golfing during his retirement years in Florida. While the boys were young, he was involved in the Cub Scouts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan; a daughter, Celeste Sampson and her husband, Dennis of Poland; his sons, Steven of Sabattus and John and his wife, Roxanne Hardt, of Sabattus. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jeremy Sampson of Poland, Faith and Noah Perrier of Sabattus; as well as his sister, Pauline Kilgore of Poland; a brother, Richard of Allentown, N.H.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Andre and Monique Poulin of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and in-laws, Jean D. and Lucienne Boutin; a daughter-in-law, Danielle Perrier; brother-in-law, Gaylen Kilgore; and a niece and nephew, David and Pammy Kilgore.
