LEWISTON — Henry Caouette, 89, of Lisbon, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Marshwood Center, with his family by his side.
He was born on March 5, 1925, to parents Joseph Caouette and Loudivine Delaire. He worked as a heavy-equipment operator in his early years, then had many adventures until he invented the GeoFlow Filtration Septic System. It was trademarked in 1993 as GeoFlow Waterfall Distributors
He enjoyed playing cards, buying cars and trucks and new business adventures, and he was always thinking.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Doria; three sons, Bert Laplante and Dan and Ron Caouette, and their spouses; and three daughters, Pauline Clavet, Linda Norris and Lisa Olmstead, and their spouses; a brother, Donald Caouette; a sister, Jackie Lashing; and 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Albert and Thomas Caouette.
Henry was an extremely intelligent man, who was full of life and made his own decisions until the end. His sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.
