Herrick – Verrill


AUBURN – The wedding of Rachel Lynn Herrick and Jacob Thomas Verrill was held at 6 p.m. on May 19 at Lost Valley in Auburn. Lynn Hamper, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Verrill is the daughter of David and Wendy Herrick of Otisfield and Pam Hancock of Auburn. Mr. Verrill is the son of Tom and Lorrie Verrill of Mechanic Falls.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white organza gown in halter style with ribbon trim on the skirt and bodice. The back featured organza covered buttons with a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of 12 white roses.

Joni Gordon was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Sarah Herrick, a family member of the bride, Amy Perreault and Lisa Jendrick, friends of the bride, and Lacy Verrill, friend of the bride and sister of the bridegroom. Madison and Mallory Gordon, daughters of the matron of honor, were flower girls.

Matthew Fifield, friend of the bridegroom and family member of the bride, performed the duties of best man. Ushers were Sean Bowie, Troy Plummer, Ryan Demers and Nick Lenahan, friends of the bridegroom. Isaac Fifield, son of the best man, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at Lost Valley, after which the couple traveled to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. They are residing in Mechanic Falls.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Oxford Hills High School and is currently a student at Central Maine Community College, majoring in early childhood education. She is employed as a billing clerk at Ed Thayer, Inc.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Edward Little High School and received degrees in electronics and fire science at Southern Maine Community College. He is employed at the Auburn Fire Department and the Mechanic Falls Water Department.
