Oxford Hills 14, Erskine 1
SOUTH CHINA — D.J. Croy scatted four hits and received strong run support as Oxford Hills hustled to a 14-1 victory over Erskine in their KVAC baseball season-opener Wednesday.
Cody Hadley smashed a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Vikings a 3-0 advantage. Hadley finished with four hits and three RBIs to lead his squad. Nate Dubois also contributed with three hits, while Erik Henderson added two. Croy drove in a pair of runs, as did Andrew Keniston and Matt Verrier.
Tom Grady led Erskine with a pair of hits, highlighted by a double. Jory Humphrey worked the first five innings and was taged with the loss.
Lisbon 6, Livermore Falls 3
LIVERMORE FALLS — Alan Hall sparked a four-run sixth inning as Lisbon bounced back for a 6-3 victory over Livermore Falls in a season-opening MVC tilt Wednesday.
The Andies held a 3-2 advantage after five frames. Alan Hall led the Greyhounds with three hits and one RBI, while Andy Tupper and catcher Chris Whitney each belted a double. Hall’s double in the sixth plated Tupper, with three more runs scoring on walks. Frank Angelico scatted six hits in seven innings to earn the win.
Livermore Falls was paced by Willie Brown with a pair of hits.
Hebron 25, Gould 4
BETHEL — Brian Gage gave up four hits, struck out six and drew excellent run support as Hebron rolled over Gould 25-4 in a prep school baseball matchup Wednesday.
Nate Dupere led the Lumberjacks with a two hits, including a home run. Gage and Ian Canty also contributed at the plate with two hits apiece. Hebron built an 11-4 advantage in the first two innings and was never challenged.
Lisbon 13, Livermore Falls 1
LIVERMORE FALLS — Kimber Morse scattered six hits and drew adequate run support as Lisbon rolled over Livermore Falls 13-1 in MVC softball action Wednesday.
Ashley Beaulieu led the Greyhounds with three hits and two RBIs, while Shawna Reardon added two hits with two RBIs. Morse had just two strikeouts, but was consistent throughout the contest.
The Andies had four players with singles, led by veterans Sam Greenwood and Jade Purrington. Kaitlyn Townsend went the distance and struck out five batters for Livermore Falls.
Erskine 5, Oxford Hills 4
SOUTH CHINA — Jenn Souther lined a shot into the gap in left-center to score the winning run from first base to lift Erskine to a 5-4 triumph over Oxford Hills in their KVAC season-opener Friday.
The Eagles chipped away in the early innings to build a 4-0 lead after three innings, but the Vikings tied it in the fourth. Singles by Heather Verrier, Jaidyn Rice and Allison Snow, a double by Ashley West and an error produced the four runs.
West and Dayna Schultz had two hits apiece for Oxford Hills. Winning pitcher Sam Morse had three hits for Erskine.
New Hampton 12, Hebron 8
HEBRON — Anna Menke led a group of five players to register goals as New Hampton overpowered Hebron 12-8 in a prep school girls’ lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon.
Menke finished with seven goals, while Sarah Long added two. Kalieigh Teague, Taylor Sirles and Elizabeth Elcoke also tallied to complete the scoring. Vikki Moore and Jenny Currie combined for 10 saves in net for New Hampton.
Hebron was paced by Camree Thompson with a hat trick, while Sarah Markey netted a pair of goals. Tayla Bent, Catherine Byrne and Ally Strachan also scored to round out the final tally. Maggie Lane turned aside 10 shots between the posts.
