RANGELEY — Eric White sank a game high 23 points to help propel Rangeley to a 45-33 victory over Richmond in boys’ Class D basketball.
Rangeley held a six point advantage after one quarter before Richmond cut it to 18-15 at the half. The Lakers (6-10) outscored the Bobcats 9-3 in the third and 18-15 in the final quarter to pull away for the victory.
To go along with his 23 points, White also hauled down 12 rebounds. Alex Morton and Luke Elliott each chipped in with six points apiece. Morton also had six assists and Elliott had a pair of three’s for the home team. Ben Carver paced the Bobcats (4-12) with eight points.
Monmouth 52, Lisbon 43
LISBON — Brandon Goff led all scorers with 18 points to send Monmouth Academy to a 52-43 victory over Lisbon in MVC boys’ basketball action.
Billy Cummings chipped in with 12 points for the Mustangs (3-14). Jacob Bremmer had 14 points and Mason Smith 10 points to lead the Greyhounds (1-17).
Hall-Dale 71, Telstar 50
FARMINGDALE — Suffocating pressure defense sparked a 27-10 third quarter as Hall-Dale pulled away from Telstar, 71-50, in MVC boys’ basketball action.
Austin Bechard led the Bulldogs (11-6) with 11 points, while Sam Shepard dominated the paint with 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots.
Danny Whitney led Telstar with a game-high 19 points. Corey Howard chipped in with 12 points for the Rebels (8-9).
Richmond 43, Rangeley 40
RANGELEY — Jamie Plummer poured in a game high 18 points as Richmond held off Rangeley for a 43-40 in girls’ Class D basketball.
Richmond (14-1) took a four point half time lead and opened it to a 33-23 score through three periods. Rangeley put up 17 points in the fourth quarter but fell short, losing only for the second time this season. Both losses have come to the Bobcats. Alyssa Pearson chipped in with 10 points while Danica Hurley added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Taylor Esty paced the Lakers (15-2) netting 12 points. The freshman also grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss. Jenney Abbott followed with 10 points while Emily Carrier added four points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Boothbay 52, Winthrop 19
WINTHROP — Boothbay used it’s size putting three scorers into double figures as they downed Winthrop 52-19 in girls’ MVC basketball action.
The Seahawks (12-5) doubled up the Ramblers in the first period taking a 16-8 lead. Boothbay’s defense went to work in the second quarter shutting Winthrop out taking a commanding 32-8 lead into the locker room.
Alex Clarke and Meghan Smith overwhelmed the home team’s inside game with 12 points and 10 points respectively. Allison Crocker added 11 points. Jess Scott paced the Ramblers (0-17) with seven points, followed by Shauna Carlson’s six points in the loss.
