High school students
receive art awards


FARMINGTON – Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs District 6 President Barbara Hathaway has announced the winners in the student art show at Mt. Blue High School.

Thirty-one students from three high schools participated, including Mt. Blue, Livermore Falls and Maranacook Community high schools.

The show was sponsored by members of the Livermore Falls Women’s Club, President Phyllis Anctil; Tyngtown, President Wendy Pomeroy; and Waldoboro Women’s Club, President Dona Williams.

Ribbons were given for first, second and third in 10 categories. Best of show awards went to Collyn Baeder, grade 12, Maranacook, and Adrienne Beacham, grade nine, Mt. Blue. Baeder received a $100 certificate from Androscoggin Bank; Beacham, the same from Franklin Savings Bank.

Honorable mention went to Rachel Ventrella, a junior from Livermore Falls High School, and Hannah DeAngelis, grade 10, Maranacook. Certificates of participation were given to each student. Judges were area artists Joyce Dubay of New Vineyard, Marybeth Morrison of New Sharon and Kay Seefeldt of Farmington.
