LISBON — The May 11 meeting of the Lisbon Historical Society at the MTM Center, Lisbon Falls, will feature writer Eugene Elcik.
Elcik is a Lisbon Falls native with a passion for writing beginning with his first novel, “Desperation of Souls” (already published), and coming this summer, “The Lobstermen of Deep Cove, Maine,” which will be followed by “Challenges” this fall.
He is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and of Central Maine Community College, where he was an adjunct instructor. Elcik worked at Brunswick Naval Air Station as a “Civilian” Special Services Officer for several years, and operated his real estate appraisal business before retiring to write. He will disclose what he feels it takes to be a writer of fiction and will answer questions from the audience.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 7 and is open to the public at no charge. Please use the rear entrance behind MTM and the Methodist Church, and come to Rooms 5 and 6. Refreshments will follow the presentation. For additional information, contact Dot Smith at 353-8501.
