SOUTH PARIS — The Paris Cape Historical Society will open the 2010 season with a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at its museum, 77 High St.
President Glenn Davis, a classic car enthusiast, will give a short history of the automobile and speak on “The Age of the Classic Car.”
A nominating committee will be formed which will meet to draw up a slate of officers to be voted on at the meeting on Thursday, May 20. All meetings of the society are held on the third Thursday of each month, April through October. The November and December meetings are combined into a Christmas party which is generally held at King’s Hill Inn.
A speaker of general interest will be featured throughout the season and refreshments will be served at each meeting. All meetings are open to the public and the building is handicapped accessible.
The museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. starting with the first Thursday of May. Many items documenting Paris history are on display in the museum. A research library and gift shop featuring books and other items are also available.
