Hockey: Gladiators win, tie on road


In three recent road games, the Maine Gladiators Bantam  Travel hockey team posted a win, a loss and a tie.

The Gladiators beat the Biddeford Breakers, 5-2. The locals got out and running on four unanswered goals by Nate Granholm, Conrad Grimmer, Matt Brooks (assisted by Griffin Wade and Reid Pomerleau) and Kyle Morin. Brooks got the fifth and final goal. Kyle Welsh was the winning netminder.

Maine tied Casco bay 2-2 at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth. The Gladiators fought back with two goals in the third period by Austin Roy and Wade. Morin and Pomerleau registered the assists. Ridge Servidio was strong in goal.

The Breakers scored two goals to take a 3-2 win in a rematch at Hebron Academy. Wade scored twice on assists from Brooks for the Gladiators. Servidio and Welsh shared time in net.

Up next for the Gladiators are the round robin state playoffs in Biddeford this weekend.
