LEWISTON — Community Concepts announces that its NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center, HomeQuest, is now offering online home buyer education courses. The course costs $45 and should take about 10 hours to complete.
The online course is a modified version of the classroom course offered at the new Community Concepts building at 240 Bates S., Lewiston. The addition of the online option means those who are unable to fit the traditional class into their busy schedules will have the opportunity to complete the course at their own pace, stopping and starting as many times as needed, graduating with a certificate of completion. The purpose of the course is to give people the opportunity to become better educated home buyers.
HomeQuest’s director, Ronald Knott, said both the online and the classroom home buyer education programs provide participants with a wealth of information to help them become a more informed home buyer. Statistics show that people who have gone through HomeBuyer Education run a substantially lower risk of having difficulties later on affording or maintaining their home.
HomeQuest’s Home Buyer Education course covers everything from how to determine an appropriate mortgage, to how to save for necessary fees and costs, to shopping for a home, to maintaining one’s home over time. The online Home Buyer Education course is offered through HomeQuest’s affiliation with NeighborWorks and eHome America.
