Honesty, courtesy appreciated

I write to offer a thank you to the person who turned in my wallet to the Lewiston Police Department. It was lost on the trail at Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary. The thought of having to cancel my credit cards and apply for a new driver’s license was discouraging.

The officer at the police station was friendly, courteous and kind. When I asked if, by chance, someone may have turned in a wallet, I was surprised when he addressed me by name. All was intact, even the $12 in it.

That person made my day.
