SOUTH PARIS – Howard C. “Bud” Dorr, 88, left this world Friday, Jan. 12, to join his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Mahoney, with his loving family at his side. He was a resident of the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, and was formerly of Hillside Avenue in Rumford.

He was born in Mexico, on May 3, 1918, the son of Clyde and Ruby (Harris) Dorr. He was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class during World War II. He worked for Oxford Paper Co. and Boise Cascade in the beater room, and for Puiia Lumber. He was a member of the Virgin Memorial Chapel of the United Methodist Church.

He was married in Rumford, on Dec. 2, 1939, to the late Dorothy Mahoney who died in Rumford, Dec. 7, 2006.

Survivors include two sons, Jack, and his wife, Deborah, of Rumford and James, and his wife, Gail, of Mexico; four daughters, Judith Roy, and her husband, Paul, of Westerly, R.I., Jean Dupuis, and her husband, Andrew, of Mexico, Joyce Gallant, and her husband, Arthur, of Rumford and Janice Heinzen, and her husband, Michael, of Mexico; two brothers, Robert Errington of Arizona and Richard Errington of California; two sisters, Betty Brown and Maxine Gillis, of Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife; a son, Jeffrey; a daughter, Linda; four sisters, Geraldine Chapman, Evelyn Sparling, Connie Lemere and Marion Newhall; and a brother, Harold Errington.
