Edward Little 66, Mt. Ararat 29
AUBURN — Senior guard Tianna Harriman scored 16 points, including four field goals from beyond the 3-point line, to propel Edward Little to a 66-29 victory over Mt. Ararat in KVAC girls’ basketball Tuesday.
The Red Eddies (5-2) jumped out to a 30-7 lead in the first quarter, with Harriman posting 11 of her 16 points in the frame. Brooke Reynolds contributed 10 points for Edward Little.
Sophomore guard Sara Lamb paced the Eagles (3-4) with eight points.
Monmouth 41, St. Dom’s 34
MONMOUTH — Sidney Wilson knocked down 20 points to lead Monmouth to a 41-34 victory over St. Dom’s in MVC girls’ basketball Tuesday.
The Saints (1-4) kept pace throughout the contest, trailing by only a point in the second and third quarters. Allie Veinote netted four field goals from 3-point range and a free throw for a team-leading 13 points for St. Dom’s.
The Mustangs (4-2) were able to take advantage of St. Dom’s foul trouble and extend the lead in the fourth quarter. Faith Grady chipped in 10 points for the Saints.
Boothbay 40, Mountain Valley 36
RUMFORD — Page Brown provided a team-leading 13 points to lead Boothbay to a 40-36 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Seahawks (5-0) led 20-15 at the midpoint. Morgan Crocker contributed 11 points for Boothbay. The Falcons (2-3) inched closer in the third quarter before the Seahawks held on.
Sydney Petrie tossed a team-high 13 points, while Liza White added 10 points for Mountain Valley.
Lake Region 64, Gray-New Gloucester 59
NAPLES — Senior guard Tyler St.Pierre tossed in 26 points for Gray-New Gloucester but the Patriots fell 64-59 to Lake Region in WMC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.
In a tale of two quarters, the Lakers scored 27 points in the second frame for a 43-22 halftime lead. The Patriots (3-2) came back with a 25-11 third quarter run.
The Patriots trailed by only one midway through the fourth quarter, but junior forward Nate Smith hit 3-of-4 from the foul line to tip the balance in Lake Region’s favor.
Zack Haskell posted a double-double for the Patriots with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Lewiston 9, Cony 2
HALLOWELL — Junior forward Brendon Croteau netted two goals and assisted on three others as Lewiston skated to a 9-2 victory over Cony in boys’ ice hockey action Tuesday.
The Blue Devils (4-1) executed a balanced offense, with seven different players posting a goal in the contest. Jean-Luc Dostie collected a pair of goals and an assist. Cam Wilson scored twice to spoil the shutout in the final frame for the Rams (0-4).
Goalie Tommy Small batted down 43 shots for Cony, while goalie Sam Zashut made five saves to earn the win in net for Lewiston.
