Ida A. Therrien


LEWISTON – Ida A. Therrien, 90, of 140 Ash St., Lewiston, and formerly of 350 College St., Lewiston, died Friday, July 27, at Russell Park Manor.

Born in Lewiston, March 17, 1917, she was the daughter of Hilaire and Demerise Lessard Therrien. Educated in local schools, she was employed in the area shoe industry for 37 years, including eight years at Arrow Hart, and the rest at the Shapiro Bros.

A member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, she belonged to the Saints Peter and Paul Society, La Survivance Francaise, was an associate of the Sisters of Charity, Horizon 55, and Laica Dominican. An avid card player, her greatest joy came from music, and for over 70 years, starting at the age of 15, she was a member of the French Choir of Saints Peter and Paul Church.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Antoinette Therrien; a brother-in-law, Jean Robert Maheau; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
