BETHEL — To Your Health of Western Mountains Senior College will present “Family Caregiving: Guiding You Through the Rewards and Challenges Ahead,” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Bethel Congregational Church, Church Street.
Laurie Winsor, presenter, is director of marketing for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice. As people age, they may be faced with caregiving and health care issues. The program will be helpful not only to current caregivers but to anyone interested in learning more about it.
In her presentation, Winsor will discuss the growing responsibilities facing caregivers, what family members can expect from in-home care, who provides it and who pays for it and how to create the best home environment to support someone at home. She will also stress what caregivers need to be aware of in order to take care of themselves.
Winsor’s presentation will offer helpful information on navigating care decisions and life transitions for those who are involved or will be involved in the caregiving of family members or friends. As a resident of Bethel, she will also discuss local community and regional resources available to guide caregivers in accessing services. A variety of resource material will be available.
The To Your Health program is sponsored by the senior college as a community service with the collaboration of Bethel Family Health Center, SAD 44 Continuing Education and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
Admission is free and light refreshments will be available. For more information, contact Rosabelle Tifft at 824-2053.
