Irene M. Cyr


AUBURN – Irene M. Cyr, 54, of Lewiston, passed quietly into the night on Easter Sunday, April 16, at the Hospice House after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 21, 1952, the daughter of Bertrand and Rose Grondin Lussier. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Oct. 18, 1975, to Daniel K. Cyr. She was employed in the housekeeping department at the Odd Fellows Home of Maine and was a member of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed spending time with her sister and best friend, Pauline, and also enjoyed bowling and the company of her dog “Kato.” She will be remembered for her quick whit and sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel, of Lewiston; two daughters, Tricia McBride and husband, Scott, Heidi Cyr and fianc, Tyler Green all of Lewiston; a son, Kevin Somerville and wife, Carey, of Florida; two grandsons, Zachary and Jacob McBride; her mother of Lewiston; two sisters, Suzanne Harris and husband, Dana, of Monmouth and Pauline Raymond and husband, Curtis, of Auburn; two brothers, Richard Lussier and wife, Caren, of Lewiston and Robert Lussier and wife, Pamela, of Durham; and 13 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father; and a granddaughter, Chelsea.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Radiation Dept. at Central Maine Medical Center and the staff at the Hospice House for their excellent care.
