Irene Pearl Trask

NORTH JAY — Irene Pearl Trask, 84, of North Jay, died Monday, May 9, peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side.

Irene was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Farmington, the daughter of Perley and Olive (Bachelder) Ranger. She was educated in the Wilton schools and worked for more than 32 years for Forsters Manufacturing in East Wilton until her retirement.

Irene was married Aug. 1947, in Wilton, to Walter Trask, who predeceased her on July 27, 1987. They moved to Industry, where they had five children before settling in North Jay, where they raised their family.

Irene was known for her great peanut butter fudge that her family always looked forward to. She loved flowers and in her younger years enjoyed attending her childrens’ sporting events. She will be remembered by all for never forgetting to acknowledge every anniversary and birthday. She will especially be remembered for starting her Christmas shopping in January, each year, to ensure she would have a wrapped gift under the Christmas tree for everyone from her oldest child to her youngest great-grandchild. “Grammie” had a talent for choosing toys that the little ones loved and she will be very missed by them.
