Irene R. Dumais

BRUNSWICK – Irene R. Dumais, 64, of Matthew Street, Lisbon, died Friday, May 7, at Mid Coast Hospital with her loving family at her side, after a courages battle with cancer.
She was born in Waltham Mass., on July 23, 1945, a daughter of the late Earlon and Nancy (Jilson) Royal. She was raised in Mechanic Falls and was the last class to graduate from Mechanic Falls High School, and then went on to attend Bliss Business College and graduated from Andover College in Portland.
Irene married Alcid Dumais “Al” on Aug. 27, 1966. She worked for Pineland in New Gloucester, the State of Maine in Augusta and Brewer, and then went on to work for L.L. Bean for 27 years, retirering in 2009.
Irene loved her family, she enjoyed meeting up with her friends for a meal, gardening, her flowers and spending time at camp on Mud Pond in Oxford.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Al, of Lisbon; two sons, Robert Dumais of Lisbon and Scott Dumais and his wife, Joanne, of Saco; two grandsons, Zachary and Christopher Dumais of Saco; and a sister, Jane Edwards and her husband, Jerry, of Virginia.
She was predeceased by a son, Anthony, in 1966.
