Irville G. Kennedy Sr.


LEWISTON – Irville G. Kennedy Sr., 63, a longtime resident of Leeds, died Sunday, July 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, where he had been a patient.

He was born in Thomaston on July 3, 1943, the son of Melvin W. and Bernice (Fields) Kennedy.

He worked for DeCoster Egg Farms in Turner for over 30 years.

On June 8, 2007, he married Gail Goding.

He enjoyed outdoor sports, fishing, boating, and camping with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Kennedy of Leeds; three sons, Kevin and Heather Kennedy of Noble, Okla., John and Krista Kennedy of Presque Isle, and Gerald Kennedy and his companion Shannon of Bath; a stepson, Jared and Kelly Goodwin of Wilton; four daughters, Donna and Bruce Danforth of Woodstock, Tina Kennedy and her companion, Mark, of Bath; Alicia and Brian Johnson of Woolwich; Mandy and Matt Poulin of Lewiston; a stepdaughter, Patricia and Scott Quinn of Abington, Pa.; two sisters, Shirley and Chester Peasley of Montville, and Joann and Larry Luce of Washington; 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Melvin Kennedy in 1993 and Irville (Bubba) Kennedy in 2003; and one sister, Charlotte Hopp.
