1927 – 2010
FARMINGTON — Iva Carlene (Davenport) Miller, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior after battling illness, March 13.
She was a Rangeley native born on the Davenport Farm on March 16, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Eva (Hinckley) Davenport. She worked at Taylor’s IGA for 26 years, and worked on the family farm. She also was a caregiver for her mother Eva for many years. She had a great sense of humor, and the highlight of her later years was when Ruthie came to visit at the farm, and they shared scriptures and tea, and all that know Ruthie will know why.
She was a member of the Rangeley Free Baptist Church and the Reed Mills Quilting Circle in Madrid.
She is survived by two sisters, June Plummer and Eleanor Guevremont, both of Rangeley; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dale H. Miller, USN Ret.; her parents, Walter and Eva Davenport; three brothers, Walter “Skeet,” Richard and William; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Arlene.
