WILTON — Jacquelyn Curtiss, 84, of Lake Road, Wilton, passed Monday, Jan. 14, at her home, following a short illness, with her family by her side.
She was born in Livermore Falls, Oct. 13, 1928, a daughter of Warren and Ada Maude (Humphrey) Wright and received her education in Livermore Falls schools.
On Aug. 2, 1953, she married James Curtiss at the North Livermore Church. Together, they owned and operated Riley’s Lakeside Cabins on Wilson Lake in Wilton. He passed Dec. 31, 1995.
Mrs. Curtiss was a devoted mother and she enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Temple, snowmobiling, swimming in the lake and tending her flowers.
She is survived by her children, James “Jim” and Ellen Curtiss of New Sharon, Jack and Patty Curtiss of East Dixfield, Jon Curtiss of Wilton, Joy O’Connor and her fiance, Kenny Toothaker and Jay Curtiss of Wilton; grandchildren, Michelle and Lisa Curtiss, both of Bangor, Jessica Nichols and her husband, Tony, of Strong, Anthony “A.J.” O’Connor of Wilton, Melissa “Missi” O’Connor of Boston, Cameron Curtiss of Livermore Falls, Kenny’s children, Joshua Toothaker of Greene and Patti Toothaker of Farmington; two great-grandchildren, Natasha Nichols of Strong and Paige White of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Cheryl Norton who was a special friend to Jacquelyn and also to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
